Graece et τὰ Κυρέχατα, urbs Persica fuit, in ultimis Sogdianae finibus, ad Iaxartem fluv. (quem Tanain vocabant Macedones postmodum) condita a Cyro, qui ibi metâ expeditionum suarum positâ, urbi inde nomen dedit, quasi dicas Κύρου πόλιν ἐχάτην, Cyri urbem ultimam. Quemadmodum et Alexander, Α᾿λεξάνδρειαν ἐχάτην, Alexandriam ultimam eodem fere in loco condidit, Κυρεχάτοις destructis. Occurrit vox apud Ammianum, l. 22. Hic inter alia oppida celebrantur, Alexandria et Tribatra et Cyreschata Metropalis. Ad fines Persidis conditam fuisse, tradit Steph. Κύρου πόλις, ἥ καὶ Κυρέχατα καλεῖται, πόλις πρὸς τοῖς ἐχάτοις τῆς Περσίδος. Sed corrigit eum Strabo, l. 11. ὅριορ τῆς Περσῶν ἀρχῆς, termini Imperit Persici, eam fuisse tradens. Non enim in Perfide fuit, particulari illa Perlarum regione, quam τῆς Περσίδος nomine semper intelligunt Graeci: sed in altera extremitate Persarum Imperii, in finibus scil. Sogdiavorum. Interim recte Steph. Κυρέχατα et Κυρούπολιν, i. e. Cyropolin, eandem facit;K contra quam Ptolemaeus, illas diversas statuens, Κυρέχατα in Sogdiana, Cyropolin inter Mediae urbes recenset. Arriano certe et Curtio Cyropolis dicitur, quae Κυρέχατα alias ad Iaxartem. Quam in rem vide Salmas. ad Solin. p. 791. et 1193.
